Fin Ciclo Lectivo 2008

Parece mentira pero nuestro primer ciclo lectivo ha llegado a su fin. Muchos de Uds compartieron conmigo los nervios y la insertidumbre del comienzo de este sueño que no sólo se hizo realidad sino que estuvo lleno de proyectos y actividades que me llenaron de orgullo y satisfacción.
Nada de todo lo logrado se hubiera hecho realidad sin la participación, colaboración,compromiso y amor de todos los que me rodean y forman parte de CELL. Mi familia, ya que como todos saben esto es un emprendimiento familiar. A todas las profes, que se pusieron la camiseta del instituto desde el primer momento, a todos nuestros alumnos y obviamente a sus familias quienes de la manera más sincera y abierta pusieron en nuestras manos parte de la educación de sus bienes más preciados.
Estoy sinceramente agradecida por tanto cariño, respeto y reconocimiento recibido en este nuestro primer año de trabajo.

Cordoba 2008

Finalmente luego de prepararnos todo el año llegó y ya pasó nuestra tan esperada colonia de inmersión en Cura Brochero. Disfrutamos junto a nuestros alumnos un fin de semana lleno de actividades, diversión y aprendizaje. Es porque estamos convencidos que el idioma debe aprenderse de manera divertida y en un entorno agradable es que seguimos apostando a esta propuesta innovadora de la gente de Cordoba Immersion Colonies,a las cuales les estamos profundamente agradecidos por todo lo que nos brindaron y enseñaron. GRACIAS chicos y ya nos estamos preparando para el año que viene.

¡HALLOWEEN! ¿Si o no?

Se aproxima otro 31 de Octubre y como ya hace más de 14 años que me dedico a la enseñanza del idioma Inglés, se presenta en mí la gran contradicción de celebrar o no HALLOWEEN. Hace ya un tiempo que tengo claro mi pensamiento y es por eso que hoy lo quiero compartir con todos uds.
La idea de la celebración no es más que una parte de la currícula, donde trato de mostrarle a mis alumnos que esta celebración no tiene nada que ver con nuestra cultura y/o idiocincracia sino que forma parte de las tradiciones de los paises de habla inglesa, por lo cual tomamos esta "fiesta" como un espacio de aprendizaje y no de mera imitación.
Con el tratamiento y el trabajo sobre la celebración de HALLOWEEN de ninguna manera buscamos afectar las tradiciones de ninguna religión, ni herir alguna subjetividad; por el contrario, lo que tenemos como objeto es transmitir a nuestros alumnos el concepto de "multiculturalismo".
En el mundo en el que vivimos, tan globalizado, acceder a otras culturas se nos hace realmente sencillo. El hecho de conocer esas culturas, de contraponerlas, sin juzgar o perder la nuestra, nos permite llegar a un estadio de respeto mutuo, sin importar cuan distintos seamos.
En la semana previa a la fiesta propiamente dicha, trabajamos textos que nos explican los orígenes de esta celebración, vocabulario referido al tema y nos interiorizamos sobre cómo los niños del mundo celebran el 31 de Octubre.
De esta manera estamos organizando en CELL la semana de HALLOWEEN que culminará con una gran fiesta que se llevará a cabo el viernes 31 de Octubre de 17:30hs a 21hs en la disco vecina a nuestro instituto, de la cual no sólo participarán nuestros alumnos sino que recibiremos a un grupo de estudiantes del "Instituto OWELS" de la vecina ciudad de Perez.
Esperamos contar con todos aquellos que se sientan parte del instituto y quieran compartir con nosotros una más de las experiencias pedágogicas que propusimos en este nuestro primer año de labor.

Ninguna otra palabra más que GRACIAS puede resumir nuestros sentimientos a todos los que hicieron posible que el sábado 20 de Septiembre viviéramos en CELL una verdadera fiesta. Una fiesta disitinta, llena de actividades, sorpresas, diversión y aprendizaje. Fue realmente un placer disfrutar con todos los que participaron, una jornada a pleno sol que fue posible gracias a la colaboración de:
SBS Librería Internacional, Macmillan, Pearson Longman, Secretaría de Cultura y Deporte de la Municipalidad de Granadero Baigorria, y fundamentalmente al equipo docente del instituto que una vez más demostró el compromiso y el profesionalismo que todas poseen. "GRACIAS CHICAS"

El evento cuenta con el auspicio de SBS Librería Internacional y la Secretaría de Cultura y Deporte de la Municipalidad de Granadero Baigorria.

Lema: “La gente de distintas partes del mundo podrá tener diferentes costumbres, idiomas extraños. Pero hay algo más hondo en común: la afinidad que nos da saber que todos somos miembros de la familia humana. Todos somos hermanos.

La Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas proclamó el 2008 Año Internacional de los Idiomas para fomentar el multilingüismo, la unidad y la comprensión internacional.

En este marco hemos decidido propiciar un espacio destinado a los chicos y jóvenes, como un aporte para su formación cultural y educativa, posibilitando la transmisión de auténticos valores en un ambiente de alegría y entretenimiento.

En este primer encuentro se exhibirán y estarán a la venta libros en diferentes idiomas:

encontrarán material en Inglés, Francés, Alemán, Español para extranjeros, Italiano, y Portugués. Entre ellos: libros de literatura, de texto, material docente, diccionarios monolingües, bilingües, visuales y específicos, metodología, exámenes internacionales, suplementarios, usos específicos, tiempo libre, juegos didácticos, infantiles, libros con CD-ROM, libros con DVD, etc.

Además de la exposición y venta de libros, se desarrollan numerosas actividades para niños y jóvenes: § Narraciones de cuentos
§ Taller de expresión artística
§ Títeres
§ Rincón de juegos

Es para todos los involucrados en la organización de este evento un desafío enorme que sólo verá sus frutos si podemos contar con la presencia de todos nuestros niños y jóvenes acompañados además por sus familias para poder compartir en nuestra ciudad una actividad distinta y sumamente interesante.

Actividades Especiales en CELL

En la tarde-noche de ayer miércoles 6 de agosto, nuestros alumnos disfrutaron de una tarde de teatro brindada por el grupo THE BUENOS AIRES PLAYERS, quienes nos deleitaron con tres obras educativas cargadas de valores fundamentales para la formación integral de nuestros chicos. En consonancia con el espíritu de las clases en CELL las obras que compartimos hicieron que pudiéramos aplicar los contenidos linguisticos desarrollados en clase en otro ambiente. La experiencia fue realmente positiva y agradecemos la respuesta de nuestros alumnos asi como también la de sus familias, que siempre acompañan cada propuesta de manera positiva e incondicional.

Culturally Aware in ELT lessons by Prof. Silvia A. Schnitzler

We enjoyed this demonstration in which we learned how to tackle the integration of the cultural component in ELT lessons from two angles:
Ø Project Work: PROYECT your WORK to your Community
Ø Music and Songs: Breaking Barriers: Singing beyond Borders
P W: She demonstrated the steps that have been accomplished so far in the programme she has been developing with her students in the area of Hotel Management. The cultural component is very strong as the educational intention is to ‘use’ the foreign language within as well as beyond the frontiers of our country. Values, such as respect and tolerance, are enhanced. This project aimed at fostering students’ growth not only from a practical point of view- progress in their knowledge of the English language- but from an experiential standpoint- development as a committed citizen of Argentina and of the World.

M & S: Following the format of the workshop Silvia has been delivering during the past years entitled “More than just singing”, she focused on the songs which carry a strong cross-cultural component. The participants were asked to put themselves into their students’ shoes. By doing the activities first, we were able to anticipate problem areas and find a way out prior to the implementation of the activities in the classroom.

"Five ways to good health"

Healthy diet- If you want to have a good health try to avoid eating junk food and sodas. Eat more vegetables, fruit and milk. Don't forget eating more fish and chicken.
Eating in a quiet atmosphere- You should eat, at home or at work, without having a row or watching TV, specially the news. It could affect your digestion.
Do some exercise- If you can't go to a gym, try to go for a walk or ride a bicycle at list twice a week.
Relax and rest your mind- It's very important for your health having enough time to relax because stress can affect not only your mind but also your body.
Visit a doctor - You should visit a doctor at list once a year and never take medicines on your own.

Special Projects "Comparing Cultures"

Our project consists of typical traditions of the UK and Argentina.
The topics are: education,sport,tradicional food, among others like location and government.
UK(GREAT BRITAIN)Location: it is an island country located off the north wester coast of Mailand Europe.The UK is sorrounded by the atlantic ocean.The north sea, the english channel and the irish sea.The UK is a union of four constituent countries: England, Northen Ireland, Scotland ans Wales.
Government: the Uk is governmed by a Parlamentary System with it's seat of government in London, the capital.
Education: Brithish children are required by law to have an education until they are 16 years old. It's compulsory, but school isn't,children aren't required to attend school. They could be educated at home.
Nursey school: 3-4 years old.
Primary school: 5-11 years old.
Secondary school: 12-18 years old.
At the age of 16, students in England take an examination called the G.C.S.E (General Certificate of Secondary edutacion).
School holidays:*Christmas: 2 weeks.*Spring: 2 weeks.*Summer: 6 weeks.
Sport: many of word's famous sports began in Britain, including cricket, football, lawn tennis, golf and rugby.
Tradicional food:generaly the British.Breakfast consists of toast and mermalade with tea or coffee.The packed lunch is the most common thing to eat in Britian. It has some sandwiches, a packet of crips and something to drink for example: coca-cola.The most tipycal thing to eat for dinner is meat and two veg.

ARGENTINA
Location: it is in south America Continent. The limiting countries are: Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Chile.
Government: (system) the gorvernment of Argentina fuctions with in framework of a federation presidential representative democratic Republic.
Education: the education in Argentina is compulsory and attending school is neccessary.The school system is divided into primary and secondary.
Tradicional food: For breakfast we drink coffee or tea with milk and sugar .A traditional drink of Argentina is an infusion called mate.Argentines are famous for their high protein diet, particulary beef and the barbecue. A sweet paste: dulce de leche is another national obsession.

En el dia de ayer los alumnos de 5to Adol compartieron una clase especial con los alumnos de First Certificate, en la cual trataron tres temas elegidos por ellos para exponer y compartir con sus compañeros. La experiencia resultó sumamente enriquecedora para ambos gupos . FELICITACIONES!! a todos "I'm very proud of you ALL!!"

My family is big because I've got two sisters, twelve cousins, a lot of aunts and uncles, four grandparents and two great-grandmothers.
I go to Nuestra Señora de los Milagros and I go to an English Institute. At school, I've got a lot companions but some friends. However, in the English Institute, is diferent because I feel that all my companions are my friends.
My ambition is to be a translator and a travel agent. I wanna have a big house, in a beautiful place.

I go to "San Francisco de Asís" school in Rosario, from half past seven a.m to quarter to one p.m. There, I have got a lot of friends and I like going to school with them. In the future, I want to have a family with two children, a boy and a girl and I would like to have a big house.

In this holidays I went to Cordoba with my parents and my sister. Well, Cordoba is fantastic, because the landscape is beatiful but it is boring, because there are some mountains.

In Cordoba walked every day and I went to the shopping center with my mother and my sister. Also, we went to the swimming pool because the weather was ok!

This summer, I also went to the club and met my friends, too. In my free time, I listened to music and watched tv. Also, I got up very late.

My last holidays

During my last holidays, I met my friends and we went to the club every day from three o´clock to half past eight. In the evening we played volleyball in the beach or football with the boys. When the weather wasn´t good, my friends and I met in the shopping centre or we went to the cinema to see a film. In February I went to Mar del Plata with my parents for ten days. I stayed in a big hotel with a lot of rooms and there was a big playroom. There, I met new friends from different cities. The weather was fantastic! It was very hot and there weren´t any cloudy or rainy days. We went to the beach very early in the morning and we were there all day. At night, we ate a lot of different dishes. Then, we visited interesting places. My holidays were fantastic! I miss them a lot.

The Holidays' Deams.
I would like to go to Miami in USA. Because It's got the best beaches to sunbathe and the best restaurants. I would like to go to the museams and take photos.

ABRIL en el CELL

Ya trabajando a full con nuestros cursos de Ingles para niños y adolescentes, nos encontramos ahora trabajando para comenzar en el mes de abril con los cursos cuatrimestrales para adultos en los niveles 1 y 3. También en el mes de abril comenzaremos a brindar cursos de conversación en inglés para todos aquellos alumnos que deseen mantener su nivel en inglés. Pero como no queremos dejar de sorprenderlos también en el mes de abril daremos comienzo a nuestro primer curso de ITALIANO.

2008 AÑO INTERNACIONAL de los IDIOMAS

Asamblea General proclama el 2008 Año Internacional de los idiomas

17 de mayo, 2007 La Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas proclamó el 2008 Año Internacional de los Idiomas para fomentar el multilingüismo, la unidad y la comprensión internacional.
La resolución sobre fue presentada por el embajador francés, Jean Marc de la Sablière:“En términos lingüisticos y culturales, el multilingüismo equivale al multilateralismo”, dijo de la Sablière.El documento, adoptado por consenso, destacó asimismo la necesidad de que a los seis idiomas oficiales de la ONU– árabe, chino, español, francés, inglés, ruso y chino - se les acorde la misma importancia.Por otra parte, solicita al Secretario General que nombre a un coordinador de las cuestiones relativas al multilingüismo.

Fechas y Horarios

Les informamos que estamos atendiendo de Lunes a Viernes de 9 a 12hs y de 18 a 21hs para incripciones e informes. Los exámenes de ingreso y/o nivelación se llevarán a cabo el Martes 4/3 a las 18hs (escritos) y Miércoles 5/3 y Jueves 6/3 (orales) en horarios a confirmar.
Los horarios de cursado para el ciclo lectivo 2008 ya están casi en su totalidad por lo tanto pueden acercase al instituto para agendarlos!!
